Herbivorous Acres is a 501c3 nonprofit farm sanctuary aiming to prevent cruelty, abuse and neglect to farm animals. Every living creature on our planet deserves a life worth living. We will help them live their lives with dignity and peace. There will be so many things for visitors to do, see, and learn about. Not only is it our goal to have the best facilities for our animals, we plan on reaching our goal of being 100% solar! This is just another way for us to give back to the animals and the environment. Our future developments include tiny houses and tiny cabins that will be available for weekend rental, vegan dinners on the farm prepared by The Herbivorous Butcher, vegan cooking classes, a CSA, work-away options, a beautiful Humane Education center, eco-friendly and locally-made gifts sold at our on-site gift shop, yoga classes with the animals, programs for schools, and services for adults and children with disabilities.
Animals are continually exploited at our expense whether that be for food, clothing, or other commercial products. This often leads to abuse and neglect. They benefit us and our planet in countless ways and we believe it is time for us to give back. Through providing sanctuary to animals that have been mistreated, abused, and neglected, our organization will work to create a more meaningful life for animals and educate the community about animal welfare and rights. By connecting the community to our animal residents, we will provide an environment where people can learn more about farm animals and that they aren’t that different from animals that we typically call our pets. Herbivorous Acres hopes to change society’s views of farm animals through, rescue, rehabilitation, and advocacy. The more people that are engaged in the conversation of animal rights and welfare, plant-based living, and compassion, the more animals we can save.
